One losing streak will end on Saturday night as fierce local rivals Adelaide and Port Adelaide clash in the second Showdown of the season.

The Crows (8-10, 113.5%) have slipped in the race for the finals across recent weeks, losing five of their past seven games while others have leapfrogged them.

The Power (14-4, 113.7%) have dropped their past two matches to Carlton and Collingwood, but remain a genuine flag contender.

QUARTER-BY-QUARTER MATCH REPORT

Both sides were feeling each other out in the early stages of the game in front of the ruckus crowd.

Ben Keays was able to get on the end of a dribble kick deep inside 50 to kick the Crows’ first major of the night.

After successfully locking down Nick Daicos last week, Willem Drew was charged with another big defensive assignment on Crows skipper Jordan Dawson.

Taylor Walker made it two in a row for the Crows in a promising start from Matthew Nicks’ side.

“Clearances getting a bit out of control here for Port Adelaide,” Crows great Mark Ricciuto noted on Fox Footy.

The Power were able to stem the flow though after Charlie Dixon drew a free kick at full forward and kicked his side’s opener.

But Adelaide instantly responded, with Lachlan Murphy getting his own free kick and converting from point-blank range to make it a 14-point Crows lead.
