LIVE: Two of the form teams of the competition are locked in an enthralling battle as the Warriors host the Raiders at Go Media Stadium in Auckland.

The fourth-placed Raiders may sit one spot higher on the Warriors, but rookie coach Andrew Webster has his side humming, winning five of their last six — including a Round 15 victory over Canberra.

And after a sensational light show welcomed the Warriors into the arena, the hosts took a six-point lead inside five minutes when returning star Marata Niukore burst through the line from close range, rewarding a bold decision to take a tap rather than kick an early penalty.

The Warriors came close down to a second ten minutes later with a raid down the left flank, but Marcelo Montoya’s pass back inside was knocked on.

But the visitors began to swing momentum back their way with back-to-back six-agains resulting in Canberra number six Jack Wighton diving for the line only to lose the ball as he stretched out his arm for the white stripe – though he was well short.

But the Warriors gifted the Raiders an equaliser 20 minutes in when a poor pass for Shaun Johnson saw Niukore drop the ball, with Hudson Young picking it up and racing clear of the chasers to dive under the posts for his seventh try of the season.

Jarrod Croker converted from right in front to make it 6-6 at the midpoint of the first half.

The Warriors are boosted by the return of Marata Niukore from suspension and Bunty Afoa from a head knock. The latter has dropped back to the bench in the one late change Webster made.

But they’re up against a Raiders side that has been in tremendous form away from home. They’re on a seven-game winning streak for away games — and have won a total of 10 from their last 12 games.

The Raiders also welcome back a key member of their pack with Josh Papalii returning from a hamstring injury. Pasami Saulo is back on deck too after missing Round 19 due to a head knock.
