Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia:

A vehicle carrying 60 tons of gas exploded in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar early Wednesday, authorities said.

Emergency services received a call just after 1 am local time (1700 GMT Tuesday) that the vehicle carrying the flammable fuel had exploded because of a traffic accident, the Mongolian National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said in a post on Facebook.

Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene, it added.

Images shared by NEMA showed emergency services at the scene of the fire, with huge flames engulfing the street.
