The goal umpire didn’t make a call immediately, opting to send the moment to the ARC for further investigation. Although his soft call was a goal.
But the ARC reviewer deemed that the ball had just grazed Acres’ head before crossing the goalline and, therefore, overturned the call.
“If he’s bald, that’s a goal,” commentator Dwayne Russell told AFL Nation.
There was a strong response on social media to the call.
