Cameron Munster, Gorden Tallis, Storm forward pack, NRL preliminary finals, Penrith Panthers vs Melbourne Storm, NRL news, reaction

Storm star Cameron Munster has provided a hilarious reply to Fox League’s Gorden Tallis’ criticism of the Melbourne forward pack.

The heat has been on the Storm pack this week, with suggestions they have lost their intimidation and fear factor this season.

They’ll get a chance to quieten the naysayers on Friday if they can match it with the ferocious Panthers pack consisting of James Fisher-Harris, Moses Leota, Liam Martin and Spencer Leniu.

Tallis noted to Munster on NRL 360 that the Broncos forwards “dominated” the Storm pack when the two sides clashed in a qualifying final a fortnight ago.

“Your forwards got dominated by the Broncos in the middle, it’s really important they stand up to this Penrith pack just to give you guys a chance,” Tallis said.

“Thanks Gordie. You should be coach mate, I like the way you think,” Munster replied before Tallis continued “What else you want me to say to them? That they are soft?”

Munster went on to stick up for his forwards, stating the whole Storm side had a “bad night” against the Broncos.

“We’ve got a really good forward pack, I love going to war with them,” Munster said.

We obviously had a bad night (that night) everyone was accountable for their performance but the middles have had a great season.

“It was just one of those nights where we were outmuscled all over the park, regardless of who was playing and I played one of the worst games I’ve ever played.

“We obviously know we have a big job ahead of us on Friday night. They (Penrith) have a great forward pack but we have a good forward pack too and if we can get it together and work together and not give (penalties) away, we have a great chance for sure.”

Munster would take another opportunity to bite back at the Tallis dig at the end of his interview.

“After Gordie having a go at my forward pack, I might have to go see them tonight,” he said.

“I might have hit a nerve,” Tallis said with NRL 360 co-host Braith Anasta adding, “Maybe they were watching, you might have fired them up Gordie”.
