Mason Cox in hot water for clumsy bump? | 00:30

1. Patrick Lipinski

Started as the sub and was brought into the game at quarter-time for Nathan Murphy. Had 16 disposals in three quarters and was reliable. 7

2. Jordan De Goey

Kicked a crucial goal after the quarter-time siren. Josh Dunkley ran with him for much of the afternoon in a bid to quell his impact. Made the most of his moment in the final quarter with a goal on the run to put the Pies back in front. 8

3. Isaac Quaynor

Rotated through opponents. Didn’t waste a disposal and once again held his own in one on ones. 7

4. Brayden Maynard

Spent some time on Cam Rayner. Found himself on Charlie Cameron at stages in the final quarter. Levelled one contest and let Cameron outbody him and kick a goal in another. Typically committed. 6

5. Jamie Elliott

Didn’t have much of an impact in the match but kept the Lions defence nervous despite not doing much damage on the scoresheet. 6

6. Tom Mitchell

Was huge for the Pies, racking up disposals and laying a stack of tackles. Once again accumulated a lot of the ball, but also laid plenty of tackles in close, finishing with 13. A brilliant game. 9

7. Josh Daicos

Didn’t have a huge impact on the match by his lofty standards. Went at just 59 per cent efficiency. Not that that will bother him given the outcome! 6

10. Scott Pendlebury

Had five clearances in the opening half as he blended well on both inside and outside. Had 10 disposals in the final quarter and helped will his side to victory. 8

Ginnivan’s decision raises eyebrows | 00:36

14. Darcy Cameron

Started slowly but worked into the game. Took some good marks throughout and was relied upon when Mason Cox came off with injury in the final quarter. 7

17. Billy Frampton

Played a negating role on Harris Andrews. Didn’t get much of the ball himself and had kept Andrews relatively quiet in the first half, but Andrews burst to life in the second, with nine disposals in the final quarter. Not his best day but nonetheless played a part. 4

22. Steele Sidebottom

Ran hard all day and kicked an amazing goal on tired legs in the final few minutes of the game to put the Lions up by 10 points. A typically classy performance by a player who rarely wastes a touch. 8

23. Bobby Hill

Had a first half for the ages, booting four goals. He was very influential at ground level and in the air, soaring for a brilliant mark in the second quarter. Had chances at more goals in the second half but was inaccurate with his set shots. Was a game changer and a matchwinner. 9

25. Jack Crisp

Didn’t have a heap of the ball in the opening half, but kicked two crucial goals and came home with a wet sail, finishing with 25 disposals. A huge effort. 8

Bouncing Bobby takes to the skies! | 00:42

28. Nathan Murphy

Subbed out with concussion in the first quarter. N/A

30. Darcy Moore

Did his best to quell the influence of Joe Daniher, but didn’t do overly well given Daniher’s output. It meant Moore didn’t do much on the counter-attack but his focus was stopping Daniher, who kicked three goals. 6

31. Beau McCreery

He missed chances in front of goal but was incredibly influential with the ball in hand. He created plenty of scoring opportunities. 7

32. Will Hoskin-Elliott

Didn’t have a big impact on the match and didn’t do much damage with the disposals he had. 6

33. Jack Ginnivan

Had a couple of moments throughout the match to impact the scoreboard but wasn’t able to do maximum damage. Finished with the seven disposals. 5

Murphy OUT after brutal head knock | 01:02

35. Nick Daicos

Kicked the opening goal of the game and lifted in the second quarter after a relatively quiet first term. Had a lot of the ball ultimately and finished with 29 disposals (11 contested). 8

37. Oleg Markov

He had 12 disposals and three tackles. He had passages of trademark dash but it was a hotly contested. 6

38. Jeremy Howe

Brave for much of the afternoon, putting himself in the firing line in some crunch aerial contests. Finished with 24 disposals and helped set up plenty of counter-attack. 8

41. Brody Mihocek

Didn’t have too many chances but was solid in the air and at ground level, booting a goal and making his 10 disposals count. 8

46. Mason Cox

Missed a couple of chances at goal but as always offered a strong target in the air. Came off with injury concern in the final quarter. 7
