Jose Ramirez and Tim Anderson punch, fight, boxing, video, reaction, benches clear, Major League Baseball

Jose Ramirez and Tim Anderson turned a baseball game into a boxing match and then a bench-clearing brawl.

With the Guardians trailing 5-0 in the bottom of the sixth on Saturday night in Cleveland, Ramirez laced an RBI double to right field off Chicago White Sox reliever Byran Shaw to cut the deficit to 5-1.

After the double, Ramirez and White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson, started jawing at each other and the fists started to fly.

Anderson dropped his glove and put up his fists as the fight began.

One of the umpires tried to break up the scuffle by getting in between the two players, but stepped away as he saw that wasn’t going to work.

As the benches were already clearing, Ramirez then caught Anderson with a nasty right hook, sending him to ground.

Not surprisingly, both players were ejected and likely will face some suspension time, as well as fines.

The White Sox have a 5-2 lead in the seventh inning.
