Michael Maguire NSW Blues, playmakers meeting, Sharks, Nicho Hynes, Blayke Brailey, Eels, Mitchell Moses, team selections, videos, highlights

Michael Maguire has reportedly held a secret playmakers meeting to sit down with his Origin contenders, with Sharks duo Nicho Hynes and Blayke Brailey in the mix for selection.

That is according to The Daily Telegraph, who are reporting both Hynes and Brailey earned an invite to Blues HQ, alongside a host of other stars, at NSWRL headquarters on Tuesday.

Fullbacks, halves and hooker were involved in the meeting, with Brailey forcing his way into selection calculations after a strong start to the season with Cronulla.

Meanwhile, Hynes has made no secret of his desires to return to the Origin arena, telling foxsports.com.au his axing in 2023 has made him eager to return to the NSW side.

Brailey also wasn’t included in Maguire’s 40-man pre-season camp, but joined James Tedesco and Tom Trbojevic at the meeting.

Despite suffering a foot injury, Mitchell Moses was also in attendance, meaning he could be in line for selection with only a single game under his belt when he returns in Round 12.

Fellow Eels star Clint Gutherson was also in attendance, while Rabbitohs trio Damien Cook, Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker declined their invitation.
