Sean Darcy contract, re-signs with club, Fremantle Dockers, free agency, net worth, how many years

Fremantle ruckman Sean Darcy has re-signed with the club until the end of 2030.

Darcy was set to be one of the most high-profile out of contract players at the close of 2024, but Fremantle confirmed on Wednesday he had recommitted to the club for a further six years.

The 25-year-old won the club’s best and fairest award in 2021 and has established himself as one of the best rucks in the competition.

“It’s a really exciting time for the footy Club, we’ve got some really talented players,” Darcy said.

“We just need to get stuck into it and I can’t wait for the season to start. I’ve got full belief in our team, our list and what we’re building and everything going forward.

“We had a bit of a disappointing year last season and we’re not shying away from it.

“Everyone is on board that we need to be better, we need to improve and we need to improve quickly.

“We’re trying to get the best out of each other and we’re working hard every day to push each other, so it’s really exciting.”

He played 15 senior games in 2023 as he and recruit Luke Jackson began to gel as a ruck-forward combination.

Darcy’s season ended prematurely when he was sent in for ankle surgery in July.

Jackson was named in the extended All-Australian squad as he picked up the slack in Darcy’s absence.

In September, Brennan Cox recommitted to the Dockers for six years.

The club failed to make the finals in 2023 under Justin Longmuir.
