Shreyas Iyer Takes Brilliant Diving Catch Running Backwards To Dismiss England Star. Watch

India gained control over England on Day 2 of the ongoing second Test in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. In response to India 396, England were 155/4 at Tea, somehow surviving an intense spell of fast bowling from Jasprit Bumrah, who did end the session with two wickets to his name. Bumrah dismissed Joe Root and Ollie Pope in the space of an over to derail England’s innnings, following a fiery start by Zak Crawley. The England opener was destined to score a century, but a lapse in concentration, coupled with Shreyas Iyer’s stunning catch, led to his downfall.

Batting on 76, Crawley shimmied down the track and went for a big shot on Axar Patel’s full-length delivery. However, he was beaten by some grip and bounce.

He skewed the ball straight to backward point and Iyer took a stunning catch running backwards. It wasn’t an easy chance as the ball descended over his left shoulder and Iyer had to make a dive at the last minute to hold on to it.

Meanwhile, England were 155 for four at tea in reply to India’s first innings total of 396 all out on the second day of the second Test.

Jonny Bairstow (24) and Ben Stokes (5) were at the crease during the break.

Crawley made a 78-ball 76, studded with 11 fours and two sixes, to give England a good start.

But Bumrah (2/27) snapped two wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav (1/30) and Axar Patel (1/24) accounted for one each to leave the visitors in a spot of bother.

England still trail India by 241 runs.

Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal struck his maiden double century as India were all out for 396 in their first innings. His innings had 19 boundaries and seven sixes.

James Anderson (3/47), Rehan Ahmed (3/65) and Shoaib Bashir (3/138) picked up three wickets each for England.
