The Newcastle Knights will be out to make it a staggering nine wins in a row when they face the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Adam O’Brien’s side have gone on a remarkable winning streak since battering the Canterbury Bulldogs 66-0 on July 2 and have cemented a finals berth as a result.

A victory for the Knights will cement a 5th-place finish and they can only finish as low as 6th should the Cronulla Sharks win and the Dragons spring an upset in the final game of the regular season.

The Dragons are safe from the wooden spoon thanks to Manly’s demolition of the Wests Tigers on Friday night and have only pride to play for.

For a number of the Dragons, the game against the Knights could be their final chance to prove they deserve a future at the club before Shane Flanagan takes over.

The Knights have made one change to their team since naming it on Tuesday, with Leo Thompson withdrawn from the squad 24 hours before kick-off and replaced by Jack Hetherington in the starting line-up.

As for the Dragons, they are yet to make any changes to the team.
